MCS sells, installs, sets up and supports Retail Management Hero (RMH) for independent and multi-store retailers. From the first demo to data conversion, training, hardware and day-to-day support, we take care of everything RMH so you can run your store.
★ USAF veteran-owned · Goffstown, NH · Retail Management Hero partner
Cloud-only POS systems put your sales and your data on someone else’s servers. RMH runs in your store, on your own Windows computers and your own SQL Server database, and still connects to the integrations and multi-store tools a growing retailer needs.
RMH stores your items, customers and sales history in Microsoft SQL Server on your own hardware. You keep it, you back it up, and you decide who touches it.
RMH is an on-premise solution with offline capabilities. If the internet or RMH’s license service goes down, the running apps keep working normally for up to 14 days.
RMH Central connects every store to headquarters in real time for inventory, pricing, promotions, loyalty, customers, AR and reporting.
RMH offers perpetual licenses and subscriptions (monthly or annual), so you can pick what fits your budget.
Built as a replacement for Microsoft RMS, which hasn’t been sold or supported since July 2021. Your data, hardware and many familiar hot keys carry over.
Open architecture with a robust API and SDK, hundreds of partners and add-ons, and integrations for eCommerce, payments, accounting and more.
RMH needs an internet connection to activate a license and to start the apps. Once running, it keeps working through an outage for up to 14 days. Product details: rmhpos.com and docs.rmhpos.com.
We don’t hand you a box of software and walk away. MCS handles every part of your RMH system, start to finish.
For new stores and RMS upgrades
We help you choose the right RMH setup, including POS lanes, Store Manager and RMH Central, and the license type (perpetual or subscription).
For single and multi-store
We install SQL Server, Store Manager and POS, set up registers, printers, scanners and cash drawers, and configure taxes, tenders, users and security.
From Microsoft RMS, text or CSV files
RMH is built on the same foundation as RMS, so your items, customers, account numbers and sales history can come with you. Starting from a spreadsheet or another program’s export? We convert text and CSV files into RMH.
For owners, managers and cashiers
We train your team on what they actually use: ringing sales, receiving, purchase orders, physical inventory and reports.
Registers, peripherals and servers
Workstations, touchscreen all-in-ones, servers, receipt printers, scanners, cash drawers, pole displays, label printers and EMV chip readers, chosen to work with RMH.
For stores on older SQL Server Express
RMH runs on Microsoft SQL Server, and RMH’s docs now recommend SQL Server 2025. Our tested SQL Express 2025 Upgrade Kit moves your database safely.
For one yearly price per store, you get a partner who knows your system and picks up the phone.
Covers anything RMH-related, including:
One contract covers one store’s RMH database and the computer it runs on. Each additional RMH computer we connect to is $120/year. An RMH reinstall isn’t included and is billed separately.
Pay as you go for any help with RMH, RMS or IT.
What’s an Enhancement Plan? With a perpetual RMH license, RMH sells an annual Enhancement Plan that gives you RMH software upgrades and RMH technical support. Subscriptions already include upgrades.
RMH includes everything retailers loved in Microsoft RMS, plus a rewritten interface and stronger back office. A few highlights:

RMH Central is the multi-store headquarters for RMH. It connects each store to headquarters in real time, while every store keeps its own local database and POS.
Unified stock across stores, central suppliers, purchase orders and invoices, plus transfers in and out.
Schedule sales and promotions for every location from one platform.
Global customer records, centralized gift and loyalty, and a central view of accounts receivable.
Enterprise reporting that feels familiar to RMS HQ users.
Each store runs its own SQL database and POS. Sync packages wait in the Flash Bridge until they can be sent to headquarters.
Our upcoming MCS utility for multi-store accounts receivable cleanup.
Microsoft hasn’t sold or supported RMS since July 2021. That means no security patches and no fixes. RMH was designed as the replacement. It’s built on the same foundation, so your database, customer records, account numbers and sales history come forward, many hot keys work the same, and most of your RMS hardware still works.
MCS has supported both RMS and RMH, so we know where the differences are and we’ll walk your staff through them.
We see the same database problems over and over, so we built utilities to fix them properly. Each one starts with a free preview and takes a backup first. All are included with the support contract.
